My Favorite iPhone Apps: Instapaper
For the next installment in my series, "My Favorite iPhone Apps," I've chosen an app I use everyday, Instapaper. What is Instapaper you maybe asking? Instapaper allows you to save articles or text to read later on your iPhone or in the Instapaper web app. The great thing is that Instapaper saves the entire text of the post or article and does not require Internet connectivity to access your saved items.
Instapaper is a free app although there is a pro version available. I use Instapaper everyday and have since upgraded to the pro version. Basically the pro version adds a bunch of nice features plus a significant upgrade in the number of articles that can be stored on your iPhone at one time. Both the free and paid version include such features as: saving full web pages for offline reading, ability to "star" items and background updating. The paid version eliminates ads as well as ups the "on device" article capacity from 10 to 250. Other premium features include: automatic updating, folders, "dark" background mode, remembers your position, tilt scrolling, adjustable fonts and text size, ability to email any link and the ability to send links to Tumblr and Twitter. The pro version is only $4.99 and worth every penny. If you use Instapaper, let me know what you think.
